Tell him if you are allergic to any particular food, medicine or any substance, including the ingredients of Erythromycin. You should also not hide from your doctor if you have heart, liver and kidney problems; irregular heartbeats; myasthenia gravis and porphyria.

If you are pregnant or hoping to get conceived soon, you have to discuss with your doctor about all the risks involved in taking the drug during pregnancy. As the drug is seen in breast milk, women should avoid breast-feeding when taking the drug.

Erythromycin also interacts with other medicines and so you have to tell your doctor about all the prescription and non-prescription medications that you are taking. Well, there is also a possibility of a second attack if Erythromycin is taken for a long period.
